One of our project contributors is Roger Willougby, a clinical psychologist with an interest in the First World War and Armenian history in particular. We met him accidentally when his Armenian wife was looking for a preschool group for their lovely son – we mentioned our own project and they immediately got interested!

He’s been carrying out some research already using resources from The National Archives  and has identified several key data sources, including medal rolls, service and pension papers, naturalization records, etc.

Roger has kindly provided us with images of the British War Medal 1914-1920′ that was awarded to Interpreter K Sarafian for his service with the 52nd Division and other units of the British Army, which was in action in Egypt and Palestine between 5 May 1916 and 16 March 1920.
