One of the best things about this project is the people we meet. Over the last few days we met two very interesting people: Judith Garfield and Richard Melkonian, who are going to contribute to the project in very different ways.

Judith works at Eastside Community Heritage,  which records, documents and preserves the experiences of different communities in partnership with various organisations. We visited their offices last week and had a virtual tour in their wonderful archives, which hold so many moving stories from different communities of London. Eastside Community Heritage will provide several sessions of Oral History training for the project volunteers, so if it’s something you’re interested in, email us to get involved:

Richard Melkonian is a composer from a family of musicians and conductors. While he’s London-based, he’s interested in traditional Armenian folk songs and will contribute to the soundtrack of the film that will be produced by the project.
